“Twisted thriller that has you turning pages, always thinking you know what’s coming but ending up surprised each time.”

They say life flashes before your eyes when you’re about to die. But all she could see was regret.

The people in Frankie Morgan’s life say she’s angry. Emotionally stunted. Combative. But really, who can blame her? Somehow, though, she finds herself at her very first anger-management group session—drinking terrible coffee and learning all about how “forgiveness is a process.”

One that starts with a list and one by one, the people she’s named start getting hurt in freak accidents, each deadlier than the last.

Could it be coincidence giving her the revenge she never dared to seek…or something more sinister?

MY REVIEW

First off, let me be upfront that I have read every single book Hannah Mary McKinnon has written and loved each of them with a different fierceness. This book is no different.

THE REVENGE LIST by HANNAH MARY MCKINNON

The whole idea of a revenge list intrigued me. I knew to be on the lookout for a twisted ending, after all, that’s what the queen of endings does – she twists them and they’re always a surprise to me.

I’m not the type of person who likes to figure things out…although I know a lot of readers are like that. I prefer to enjoy the ride the author takes me on and this ride on The Revenge List was…curvy.

It starts off with someone with obvious anger issues. Did this make me like the character more or less? Honestly, I wasn’t sure – she was very flawed and I wasn’t sure if I was going to like her or not. Let’s be honest – she made a lot of stupid decisions that cost her more than she could afford.

One thing the author did brilliantly was the creation of her characters – we’re not always supposed to like them, but we are supposed to have emotions for them, and Frankie brought out a lot of emotions in me. LOL.

The twists and turns – I’m being honest when I said I didn’t see them. Most authors would have started out with the safe path and maybe twisted some of those paths to bring conflict, but every single twist and turn it became obvious there were no safe paths, that every direction was full of conflict and chaos and I was there for it!

Oh, I was there for it! So much so that it had me turning pages, rolling my eyes at the main character, being frustrated at what was happening and why. This was definitely a story that triggered my emotions and I’m so glad!!!

Aren’t you tired of picking up books that you can put down at anytime and almost forget what you were reading? It happens to me a lot. But not with this one. When I had to put the book down, I was eager to pick it up again, remembering clearly where I’d left off and frustrated with those around me who kept invading my obvious ‘reading space’. How dare they!

So…do I recommend this book? If you are ready for a book that won’t leave you alone, then 100% – you should grab THE REVENGE LIST! Enjoy it!

Happy Reading!
