Day 1 – Dec 1 or Dec 9: Bienvenue à Paris

Our sweet tour of Paris begins! After being picked up from the airport (transfers included), we will step into a charming 4-star boutique hotel @Maison Favart, where we will have time to freshen up, relax or explore the area (there’s a cafe just down the street, a boulangerie close by and the Opera House is a few minutes walk with lots of shopping in the area! In the evening we will have a welcome cocktail together before making our way to dinner at the Opera House’s chic @ChezCoco (or similar).

Day 2 – Dec 2 or Dec 10: Christmas Markets & Chocolate!

One of my favorite areas is the Left Bank and it’s not just because that’s where the famous Shakespeare & Co bookstore is located, (Odette’s puff pasty is just around the corner) or the fact there’s so many amazing chocolate shops to explore or quaint streets to get lost in. We’ll start our day with a croissant or chocolatine @foudepatisserie, a first boutique of its kind in France where we will find beautiful and yummy pastries by  several famous chefs along with other gourmet treats.

For lunch, we will have plenty of options such as crepe drizzling with nutella and french onion soup at the picturesque Christmas Market: Marché de Noel, near Notre Dame Cathedral. Specialties at this market are high-quality arts and crafts, a wide range of clothing, jewellery and fancy gourmet foods. After a glass of mulled wine or a cup of café au lait, we will cross the bridge over the Seine river to enjoy the most spectacular light show as night falls on the Hotel de Ville Chrsitmas market (city hall).  Dinner will be at the legendary belle epoque bistrot @Le petit Riche.

Day 3 – Dec 3 or Dec 11: Strasbourg, the capital of Christmas

This morning, we will board a train for a ride through the countryside to winter wonderland: Strasbourg. When we arrive, we’ll have some free time to stroll the  300 stalls at the main market, selling sweets by master chocolatiers, gingerbread, mulled wine and maybe pick up a few hand crafted items as Xmas gifts and there is of course a giant Christmas tree!

After lunch, we will be able to try some of the local specialties such as quiche lorraine, gingerbread, choucroute… , our amazin guide Vincent, will take us for a guided tour of the Strasbourg cathdral, described as “a skillful combination of monumental size and delicateness” by Victor Hugo. The spire is considered as a masterpiece of elegance, numerous  ornamental features decorate the facades.

Once night falls and the Christmas lights will illuminte the town, it will be time to have some mulled wine before boarding the train back to Paris having dinner “on the go” with delicacies we picked up from the Strasburg market.

Day 4 – Dec 4 or Dec 12: French dessserts  & Montmartre

We will start our day by donning an apron for a hands-on pastry workshop making delicious desserts in Montmartre. We will lunch at a quaint tavern in Montmartre where a nice fondu or raclette will hit the spot. We will have some free time in the afternoon to further explore the area which includes a small Christmas market – or you can visit your favorite museum, or take some time off at the spa in the hotel.  On our way to dinner, we will enter the most beautiful passageway of Paris, the Vivienne Gallery for dinner at charming Bistrot Vivienne.

Day 5 – Dec 5 or Dec 13: Did someone say Chocolate & Caberet?

We will explore the right bank with a guided tour with Vincent of the iconic @Opera Garnier, best known for The Phantom of the Opera.

Before lunch, we will pick out our favorite macaroon and then discover the unique chocolate sculptures by Roger chocolatier. Lunch will be at a cute wine bar at Place de la Madeleine.

We can’t explore Paris at Christmas time without admiring the window displays and the giant Christmas tree in the art deco dome of the Galeries Lafayette.  Their gourmet food section is also not to be missed featuring iconic chocolates by Ducasse, Marcolini, Top Chefs and other fine chocolate makers and pastry chefs including Christophe Adam, entirely devoted to éclairs.

We will end the evening with a night you’ll never forget – a genuine french cabaret. After an early dinner dinner, we will head to the @Le Moulin Rouge for champagne and showtime!

Day 6- Dec 6 or Dec 14: A Fairytale Christmas Palace

Today, we’ll visit fairy tale Christmas palace Chateau Vaux le Vicomte on the outskirts of Paris. The castle, which inspired the design of the Château de Versailles, transforms into a magical palace for the Christmas holidays decked out with garlands, illuminations, decorations, vintage toys  and baubles which can be purchased in the wonderful gift shop.  After lunch at  L’Ecureuil, you’ll discover the secrets of the French art of entertaining in the intimacy of a private salon at the château.  Dinner will be at the typical french brasserie Le Vaudeville a short walk from the hotel.

Day 7 – Dec 7 or Dec 15: Nothing but the best

Our day will begin with a visit to admire impressionist Monet’s works in a small jewel of a museum, tucked away in Paris’ posh 16th arrondissement. Lunch will be  at the magical Christmas market at Les Tuilleries followed by time off to make your last minute purchases. No best day in Paris is complete without a photo op @Eiffel tower and its Christmas village display followed by bubbles at the hotel before our farewell dinner at the elegant @Le Grand Vefour in the courtyard of the Palais Royale.

Dec 8 or Dec 16: Farewell

It’s time to  have our last café au lait and bid farewell to glittering Paris, bringing home unique stocking stuffers,  sweet memories and new friendships. Transfers to Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport will be arranged.

Alternately, if you would like to extend your trip, we can help to make those arrangements.
