Good bye London and Hello Paris!

When you think of Paris, what’s your first thought? For me, it’s the tiny streets full of shops and displays. It’s Patisseries and baguettes and everyone saying Bonjour. But when I first arrived it was busy and loud and totally not in my comfort zone – but I embraced it!

Our hotel – Hotel Henri is quaint and picturesque and very cozy. It’s in the perfect neighbourhood too – just down the street from Notre Dame and the Shakespeare and Company bookstore. We did some walking around and found the Patisserie Viennoise where I ate a pain au chocolat. Delicious.

We then decided to head on a bus tour to see the rest of the city. It’s a ‘hop on hop off’ type of deal which is perfect! We saw all the main sites today and took a lot of pictures.

We had dinner at Nos Acentres Les Geaulois tonight and it was simply amazing. It reminded of an old tavern – started off with a basket full of vegetables that we made into a salad ourselves, then the main course followed by a cheese platter and then dessert. During the meal there was singing from almost every table and free flowing bordeaux – which amazingly I drank (I’m not a red wine person). It was the perfect evening and the best way to end our first day in Paris.

Tomorrow … chocolate shops, patisseries and maybe even Hermes 🙂
