Yesterday, you all blew my mind – in a good way 🙂 I was hoping to be able to donate a minimum $500 for a one day campaign. But because of YOU – because of all of you who blogged, tweeted, posted and bought a copy of Before the Storm … well, the numbers aren’t all in yet, but let’s just say, we BLEW THAT OUT OF THE WATER!

A HUGE thank you to BookSparks as well for all your help and work with this campaign…I’ve said it before and it bears repeating…you are an amazing team to work with!

If you didn’t get a chance to buy Before the Storm yesterday, it’s not too late! Purchase your copy now, and continue to post, tweet, and blog about how you choose to #SpeakOut on ending school violence. Proceeds from every sale will go towards helping to stop school violence.

You might ask why this topic is so important to me. Not only is it a topic in Before the Storm but also my upcoming novel, Stillwater Rising, but I have three daughters who are very strong and independent young women and bullying has been something we’ve had to deal with in the past on a personal level. Every child deserves to feel safe at school – whether it’s on a school bus, play ground or walking through the halls (or even sitting in a classroom). When a child is bullied, it affects every part of their life – from their self esteem to sense of self worth, it changes how they interact with their friends and family and can lead to eating disorders and suicide.

Bullying is a topic that needs more attention for one reason only – it needs to stop.

So THANK YOU! From the bottom of my heart, knowing you all stood behind me on this issue…it means the world to me.
