I’m very excited to introduce you to an author that is one of my favorites. I’m sure you’ve read one of her books but if you haven’t, Kerry lights up the charts when she has a new release. I met her last year in Chicago and she’s amazing. I can’t wait to dip into this book…just the blurb alone tells me it’s going to be a good one! Keep reading…not only is Kerry sharing some secrets below but we’re giving away a copy of her latest book too!
Kerry Lonsdale believes life is more exciting with twists and turns, which may be why she enjoys dropping her characters into unexpected scenarios and foreign settings. She graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and is a founder of the Women’s Fiction Writers Association. She resides in Northern California with her husband, two children, and an aging golden retriever who’s convinced she’s still a puppy.

Everything We Left Behind
PRE-ORDER TODAY!
Two months before his wedding, financial executive James Donato chased his trade-laundering brother Phil to Mexico, only to be lost at sea and presumed dead. Six and a half years later, he emerges from a dissociative fugue state to find he’s been living in Oaxaca as artist Carlos Dominguez, widower and father of two sons, with his sister-in-law Natalya Hayes, a retired professional surfer, helping to keep his life afloat. But his fiancée, Aimee Tierney, the love of his life, has moved on. She’s married and has a child of her own.
Devastated, James and his sons return to California. But Phil is scheduled for release from prison, and he’s determined to find James, who witnessed something in Mexico that could land Phil back in confinement. Under mounting family pressure, James flees with his sons to Kauai, seeking refuge with Natalya. As James begins to unravel the mystery of his fractured identity, danger is never far behind, and Natalya may be the only person he can trust.
“In this suspenseful sequel to Everything We Keep…readers will be captivated as the truth unravels, hanging on every word.” –RT Book Reviews
“Love, loss, and secrets drive Kerry Lonsdale’s twisty follow-up to the bestselling Everything We Keep. Everything We Left Behind is an enthralling and entertaining read. You’ll be turning the pages as fast as you can to see how it ends.” —Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke, authors of The Good Widow
NOW TO THE GOOD STUFF…HER SECRETS…
Say you have a secret stash of treats around the house. Where would it be and what would you hide?
Lindor Chocolate Coconut truffles. I stash them on the top shelf in the pantry where my husband keeps his candy. My kids know not to eat his candy, and since my husband never eats his candy either, my truffles are safe.
What would be the perfect food and drink pairing for your book?
There are two main settings featured in EVERYTHING WE LEFT BEHIND: Puerto Escondido in Oaxaca, Mexico and Hanalei in Kauai, Hawaii, so I’d say there are two perfect pairings. Fish tacos and Corona for the chapters in Mexico and Hawaiian Style beef short ribs with a Lavaman Red Ale for the Hawaii chapters.
Do you collect anything?
I am not a collector. Quite the opposite. I have a real phobia to clutter and easily let go of material items I don’t need or want.
What’s one word your friends would use to describe you?
Organized. Though I haven’t felt too organized lately. With three book releases in less than a year, I’ve been a bit overwhelmed, in a good way.
Tell us one secret behind the writing of your latest book:
EVERYTHING WE LEFT BEHIND is the sequel to my debut EVERYTHING WE KEEP. I didn’t write the first book with the intention of writing a sequel. What happens after that infamous epilogue in EVERYTHING WE KEEP was to be left to the reader’s imagination.

My daughter, Maegan, is my best friend and we spend so much time together that we say the same thing at the same time very often and we always get tickled by it. She is my rainbow baby…the baby after the storm.
My mom and my best friend. They both are there for me in different ways and for different reasons. But I always know they will be there, as I am for them.
I also know my dog will be here for better or worse. She is very dedicated. I have earned that by giving her a safe and loving home. When I adopted her a year ago she was afraid of her own shadow, literally. Now she is confident and happy. It took her awhile to get to that point, but she trusted me and I know she will always be there for me, even if it is something scary for her initially.
