Emma. Daisy. Papa. Dottie. Alexis. Hannah. Peter. Megan.
Did you ever wonder what happened to them? To the little girl kidnapped from her front yard only to be returned, physically unharmed, two years later?
Emma’s Secret is all about secrets. Secret between a husband and wife. Between a child and her parent. Between best friends. Some secrets are best kept silent while others can destroy a family. It’s also about the love that unites a family, love that draws you in and shelters you, protects you and welcomes you with open arms when you are at your most vulnerable state.
In every story that I write, there is always a scene (or two or three) that deals with chocolate or some other decadent treat (like cinnamon buns, chocolate croissants, ice cream…). In Emma’s Secret (for those who have read it, you’ll recognize this) there is a scene where Megan and Emma are making cookies. These are my favorite chocolate chip cookies…and apparently it’s my families favorite too…I have to make 2, 3 or sometimes 4 batches in a matter of days if I want any left over!
Who likes to celebrate by themselves? Not me! So please join me as I throw a Goodreads Party all week long! But don’t think you can wait till the end of the week to join in..you’ll be missing out on some neat prizes!
Plus I have a cool contest going on – and when I say cool…I mean cool 🙂
We all know how important reviews are to books. Other than amazing covers, word of mouth and reviews are the next best things to finding new readers. So as a thank you for posting an honest review whether on Amazon, Goodreads or another online location, I have a contest going on. Just enter through Rafflecopter, letting me know if you posted an honest review and you’re entered to win. That’s it.
- Once I hit 50 reviews, I will randomly choose a name through the Rafflecopter and someone will win a $25 Amazon Gift Card.
- When I hit 100 reviews, I’ll send a person (again, random draw through Rafflecopter) signed copies of both Finding Emma and Emma’s Secret.
- At 150 reviews I have an awesome chocolate gift box (remember my trip to Brugge, Belgium…I brought gifts home for this!) plus a signed copy of Finding Emma.
- When we hit 200 reviews – you might win the chance to create a character that will be prominent in my new 5 novella book series that will be out starting Fall 2013!
What do you think? Will you join me over on Goodreads and help spread the word through reviews? I sure hope so 🙂
For two years, Megan, Peter, and their two older daughters, Alexis and Hannah, dream of nothing but being reunited with the family’s youngest child, Emma, who was kidnapped just before her third birthday. When Emma is miraculously found living with an elderly couple just miles from the family’s home, they are hopeful that her return will heal the wounds her disappearance created.
But Emma is vastly different from the sunny toddler they remember. She barely remembers her parents or her older sisters. She is quiet and withdrawn, and, worst of all, longs for the very people who kidnapped her.
Megan is consumed with bitterness, while Peter works later and later nights in the company of his gorgeous business partner. And in the middle of everything, Megan’s best friend has become suddenly distant and secretive.
Then a chance encounter in town leads to a secret that changes everything again for Emma. And Peter must decide between the happiness of his youngest daughter and the trust of his family.
