In an instant…everything changed

I've been thinking back to to when I first started writing, to when the belief I had in myself and my ability to tell a story was almost non-existent. That's how things are though, right, when you first start to lean into a passion you never quite acknowledged? When people ask me how I started writing - I always tell them it was based on a challenge. My husband, who understood me better than I'd thought, was the one to challenge me to do something for myself, to do something I'd always wanted...

The Start of Something New

January. That's what this month always feels like to me: the start of something new. In all honestly, I'm not one who likes 'new' things. I like my comfortable ways, my familiar paths, my way of life. Push me too much out of my comfort zone and I get stressed and anxious and I withdraw into myself. Unless it comes to my career. Give me a new book idea, a new marketing plan and I'm all for it. That stuff excites me, intrigues me...pushes me way past my comfort zone without tethers and I'm okay...

December Feels

Merry Christmas Eve-Eve! I love the holidays, love everything it stands for: family, happiness, joy, peace...but this year, my 'mama' heart is a little heavy and it's mainly because not all my girls will be home for the holidays. I know it's a 'right of passage' when it comes to having older children. I understand that it's all part of growing up, of the journey of motherhood...but it's hard and sad and...I'm a little emotional. My 'monthly' note is a little late, as you can tell, mainly due...

I want to start off by saying thank you for all your support during the launch of The Patient! I really hope you all love the story as much I do! If you haven't had the chance to read it yet - I believe it's still free for Amazon Prime members and for those who are subscribed to Kindle Unlimited. What I'm reading: I just finished The Silent Ones by K.L....

So, I’ve been thinking…

In just a little over a month, I'm headed to Amsterdam for my first ever Reader Trip. It's an all-inclusive 8 day river cruise with Scenic touring the Christmas Markets in from Holland to Switzerland. It's going to be amazing! My husband and youngest daughter will be joining me and we're going to go a little early so we can spend time with my middle daughter (my oldest will be holding the fort and taking care of the pups...she's more than happy being a home body and not traveling the...

Winner, Winners and Thanksgiving Dinner

psst...remember the contests I've had recently, the one for Tosca Lee and the one I hosted on my FB are listed below! I'm sitting here, sipping my coffee, cuddling with Charlie and struggling with tears. I should be able to describe the feelings in my heart right now - the thrill, relief, gratefulness, excitement...but those terms are inadequate for what I'm truly experiencing. The Patient is available and doing so well in the charts! These past few days have been a wild ride...
